About Sports Medicine Associates
Dr. Schoene has been practicing in Lake County and Chicago for over 21 years. Dr. Lisa M. Schoene, a sports medicine specialist, and certified Athletic Trainer has practiced sports medicine since the early 1990’s in the Chicagoland area.Being a Podiatrist and Athletic Trainer is a rare combination which she shares with only a few physicians in the country. Her experience includes working with numerous Olympic, professional, semiprofessional and elite athletes, including runners, dancers, triathletes, skaters, and gymnasts. She also treats every athlete from many sports including cyclying, soccer, football, basketball, and volleyball. She was one of 17 podiatrists to work at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, GA, where she cared for athletes from many countries. Dr. Schoene is also the Podiatric consultant for the DePaul University’s athletic department since 1992. Dr. Schoene has consulted for many dance companies in the Chicagoland area, including the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, Hubbard Street Dance Company, Ballet Chicago, Inaside Chicago Dance, Elements Contemporary Ballet, as well as many other companies and studios. ***Excepts most P P O's *** Practice is focused on runners, dancers and athletes.
